Dupont Circle restaurant/lounge Darlington House and artist Ravi Raman announced today that Raman will unveil his latest exhibit of paintings titled, “Rock And Roll” at the venue on Thursday, September 12 from 6 – 10 p.m.
As the title implies, the month-long exhibit will have a rock theme and will feature paintings depicting icons of the genre – both individuals as well as instruments - stylized in Raman’s colorful and inimitable Modern/Pop Art style.
“Darlington House is excited to host Ravi Raman’s ‘Rock And Roll’ exhibit because it’s a further celebration of our own rock history, as our building has also played host in a previous incarnation to early performances by everyone from Bruce Springsteen to The Ramones in what is now DIVE, our basement bar,” said Russell Hirshon, a partner at Darlington House.
Darlington House has been a three-story Dupont Circle restaurant and lounge mainstay for more than a decade and features extended facilities for private functions and events. Raman has been a burgeoning presence in the DC art scene in recent years with exhibits at various local art galleries, hotel lobbies, lounges, and restaurants. His Love In Six Lines series of street-art murals may be seen in Dupont Circle (20th St. NW, outside Dupont Metro north entrance) and Raman also will participate in DC’s Art All Night at Dupont Underground on Saturday, September 14.
