Beginning Tuesday, September 8, the northbound service road (1600 block of Connecticut Avenue, NW) This closure is necessary for crews to safely and efficiently complete the work, and is expected to last approximately eight weeks, weather permitting and barring unforeseen circumstances. Throughout this period, your customers, deliveries, and daily operations will continue to have access, as outlined below. A protected pedestrian walkway will remain open along the outer portion of the block between Q and R Streets NW, with access ramps to reach your business safely and directly.
• Morning delivery trucks and USPS will continue to have front-of-business access, coordinated with on-site crews.
• Trash and recycling collection will continue via the alley, consistent with current operations.
• Rideshare and food delivery drivers (DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, and similar services) can use adjacent roadways and walk in to complete pickups and deliveries.
• Passenger pick-up/drop-off will not be permitted within the block itself.
