Join Sitar Arts Center for the third and final installment in their 2025 Artists at Work Speakers Series. In celebration of National Photography Month, Sitar will explore the profound power of storytelling through visuals with renowned photojournalist Oliver Contreras.
Artists at Work gives you exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to DC's most exciting arts venues through the personal stories of the professionals who make the magic happen.
Multitalented photographer and editor, Oliver Contreras' fascinating career spans roles in the White House Press Office, leading newspapers and news agencies, and even creative forays into music as a percussionist and DJ. In conversation with moderator Tonya McClearly, supervising producer of Amazing America TV and former executive producer of ABC7's Good Morning Washington, Oliver will bring into focus his experiences photographing the president, political news, and human-interest stories centered on the Latinx and Hispanic communities and local artists.
