🍒 Amparo Fondita Marks Cherry Blossom 🌸 Season with a Mexican Menu Built Around Cherries in Savory, Sweet, and Liquid Form

Amparo Fondita in Dupont Circle is joining the National Cherry Blossom Festival with two limited-time menus that highlight Mexico’s rich and sophisticated flavors created by Chef Christian Irabién. The menus are rooted in Mexican ingredients and techniques, seasonal color, with thoughtful pairings with wines grown and produced in Mexico.

From March 20 to April 12, the Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant will offer a Cherry Picks menu with dishes and drinks built around cherries in savory, sweet and cocktail form. The lineup includes Manzanas con chamoy de cereza with snapdragon apples, cherry-hibiscus chamoy and crystallized lime; Pechuga de Pato en Manchamanteles de Cereza, a seared duck breast with cherry-plantain mole, cherry escabeche and duck fat refried cranberry beans; a goat cheese cheesecake with sweet cherry salsa and chile ancho; and a Cherry Daiquiri made with Mexican gin, lime cordial and tart cherry.

From March 20 to March 31, Amparo Fondita will also participate in Spring Wine Fling, offering two glasses and two courses for $55. The pairing features tostaditas de ceviche and Pato Manchamanteles with pours of Mt. Xanic Chardonnay and Misión Tinto, spotlighting two notable Mexican wines alongside the restaurant’s seasonal menu.

The menus will be available at brunch and dinner, and the seasonal specials will also be available à la carte.
