DC disco band, The Moonlighters, will be playing Dupont Circle on Saturday, August 12 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. The public is invited to wear their dancing shoes and do the hustle to the sounds of the ‘70s for the afternoon. Dance instructors will be on site to give lessons or partner with those looking to do the bump or robot.

“We are pleased to receive a grant from the Office of Planning to bring music and dance to Dupont Circle,” said Bill McLeod, executive director. “We expect The Moonlighters to bring back fond memories of the Saturday Night Fever and create joy for those in Dupont Circle.”

Vendors are needed to active the sidewalk around Dupont Circle. Artists and makers that complement our event are desired, such as jewelry, candles, clothing, plants, and macrame. If you would like to be a vendor, you can apply at www.dupontcircledc.org/vendors.

Since 1990, The Moonlighters have been performing throughout the United States as one of the country’s best-loved and most authentic Motown and disco bands. Famous for getting the crowd out on the dance floor, The Moonlighters are experts at reading the room and making their performances highly entertaining.

This event was made possible by the Streets for People grant program under the DC Office of Planning. This program seeks to support economic recovery and celebrate DC’s diverse culture by attracting people to a vibrant area of activated blocks, sidewalks, streets, and parks.
