Walk Weekend is an annual event hosted by DKMC. For two days, participating DKMC museums open their doors to visitors FREE of charge, often offering special programming and extended hours for visitors.

How do I get around during Walk Weekend?
We encourage everyone to get out and walk! Start at any museum on the list and choose your stops along the way. The museums are within easy walking distance of the Dupont Circle Metro Station. Alternatively, there are several buses that run near the sites as well as the capital bike share. View the map of the museums on the website.

What are Walk Weekend hours?
Walk Weekend is held from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm during the scheduled weekend. Walk Weekend is held rain or shine. Check each institution for individual hours.

Accessibility and Pets
Bring your parents, kids, friends, and neighbors, but please leave your pets at home. Service animals are welcome. Please note, due to the historic nature of the sites, not all of the participating museums are fully ADA Accessible.
