Dupont Circle will be celebrating India’s most colorful holiday, the Holi Festival, on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 12:00-5:00 p.m. Festivities begin in Dupont Circle park with music by DJ Neil and then Indian cultural dancing on stage by Studio Dhoom and Kathak Dancer Artist, and then progress to The Ven Hotel at 2:00 with dancing by the public and powder throwing.
“We are so excited to be partnering with The Ven hotel to expand this popular festival – now in its third year,” said Patrick Kain, Chair of the Dupont Circle BID. “Dupont Circle is a unique neighborhood with 40 embassies, and we are glad to feature India.”
The Holi Festival is a Hindu holiday that celebrates the end of winter and ushers in spring – celebrating color, love and spring. It lasts for a night and a day, starting on the evening of the Purnima (full moon day) falling on the Hindu calendar month of Phalguna, which falls around the middle of March in the Gregorian calendar – but this year March 24th.
“We love the Holi Festival – now in its third year at The Ven,” said Jennifer Goodman, General Manager of The Ven hotel. “The public can come and dance to DJ Neil and buy colored power to celebrate Holi.”
