International Arts & Artists and the Hillyer Gallery present the special exhibition She Says, Her Story: Contemporary Women Artists from Taiwan.
Curated by Yu-Chuan TSENG, the exhibition features six female artists from Taiwan: I-Chun CHEN, Wen-Jen DENG, Jui-Hung NI, Ping-Yu PAN, Yi-Hsin TZENG, and Ya-Lan YU. The artists range in age from 30 to 50 years old, with backgrounds that include Aboriginal, Hakka, Taiwanese, and same-sex orientation.
Using different types of media (video, painting, textiles, light boxes, soft sculpture, and installation), the artists share observations and explorations that reflect their personal experiences and the lives of their grandmothers, mothers, and friends. Together, they represent a legacy of Her Stories that cover generations of Taiwanese women. The exhibition is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Republic of China (Taiwan), and coordinated by International Arts & Artists, INFODATE Association (Taiwan Information, Design, Technology, and Education Association), and Taiwan Academy.
