Ahead of the grand opening on May 9 and “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” SYN will host a special Kentucky Derby brunch party on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in their finest southern flair as hosts Barnette Holston (@DCFashionFool) and Jules McGuire (@msjulesmcguire), and a panel of fashionable judges award the two best dressed guests with gift cards to SYN. For this occasion, SYN will also have a menu of signature Kentucky-inspired drinks, presented by Maker’s Mark, including The Seelbach, a blend of bourbon, Cointreau, Angostura and Peychaud’s bitters, and topped with champagne.

Starting May 9, brunch at SYN will be offered Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., blending a full-service brunch with a rotating lineup of local vendors, giving guests a reason to return week after week along with enjoying their favorite brunch staples with a SYN twist. Each weekend features different vendors selling directly within the space, creating a unique happening that combines dining with discovery.

The experience is anchored by a standing matcha bar residency from Jaliyaa Coffee, whose menu of flavor-driven drinks offers a distinct alternative to more traditional brunch beverages. Together, Trunk Show Brunch is poised to become both a destination and an evolving weekend ritual.

Designed for flexibility, guests can settle in for a meal with friends or stop by after their weekend workout class for a drink and a quick browse — making it as suited for lingering brunch plans as it is for a spontaneous drop-in.

SYN’s brunch menu focuses on elevated, familiar dishes that balance comfort and execution. Dishes like Crab Cake Benedict feature jumbo lump crab, poached eggs, and Old Bay hollandaise on an English muffin, delivering a refined take on a regional favorite while the SYN Brunch Burger layers dry-aged beef with a fried egg, American cheese, and bacon on a brioche bun, offering a richer, more indulgent option. The Smoked Salmon Toast pairs smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers, red onion, and everything seasoning on toast creating a lighter, balanced dish that complements the broader menu.

Jaliyaa Coffee’s matcha program brings a bold, unique, flavor-forward approach to brunch at SYN. Their Nana-Lushmatcha is topped with banana pudding, cold foam, and vanilla wafer crumble, offering a rich, dessert-inspired drink. Additionally, the Nubian Bloom matcha blends lavender and floral honey for a softer, aromatic profile. The Blue Miragematcha combines blue spirulina with desert pear and passion fruit, resulting in a bright, fruit-forward option.

SYN Dupont Circle debuts brunch on Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. with a Kentucky Derby celebration and then every weekend beginning Saturday, May 9.
