The DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD) has identified limited funds to assist small and independent retailers impacted by certain streetscape construction, capital infrastructure, or rehabilitation projects in the District.

Accordingly, your retail business has been identified as being located within or between the Connecticut Avenue Streetscape and Deckover Project’s currently active construction zone on Connecticut Ave: 1500 block on the east and west sides; 1600 block on the east and west sides; 1700 block on the west side between R and S Streets NW; and 1800 block on the west side between Florida and California Street NW.

The Department intends to award up to $10,000 per eligible business. This is not a reimbursement grant, so you will not have to provide proof of expenditures. Funds must be used for an ongoing business-related expense.

Please be sure to complete this brief survey so we can verify that we have the correct information for your business. This will also help us confirm that all of your documentation is accurate and up to date, ensuring there are no delays in the disbursement of your funds.

1. The deadline to submit your application is July 27, 2026.

2. Payment: We will be coordinating payment with a third party servicer, Life Asset, so you will see communications from them about disbursement.

3. Payment Timeline: You will need to have your payment information uploaded with Life Asset by July 30. Please make sure you are registered with them by this date. Life Asset will usually direct deposit you your relief funding within 30 days of complete registration
