DUPONT CIRCLE BID KICKS OFF THE SUMMER WITH NEW EVENTS IN ONE OF DC’S MOST HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOODS

Dupont Circle is now the place to be with free fitness classes and live music

June 3, 2021 / Washington, D.C. — The Dupont Circle Business Improvement District (BID) is excited to welcome people back to the neighborhood with a slate of summer programming that is free and open to the public.

"As Washington, D.C. reopens, everyone is excited to eat at their favorite restaurant, shop at their favorite store, and join their friends and neighbors as gathering places are reenergized,” says Dupont Circle BID Executive Director, Colleen Hawkinson. “The Dupont Circle BID is thrilled to be able to offer two weekly series in the neighborhood: Fitness in the Circle and the Summer Jazz Music Series. Welcome back, and enjoy a lively summer in Dupont Circle.

Fitness in the Circle: The Dupont Circle BID is partnering with Washington Sports Club’s Dupont Circle location to offer a variety of free, beginner-friendly fitness classes in Dupont Circle Park. The classes run every Sunday from noon to 1 p.m. until August 29, 2021. Online registration is open, but walk-ups are also welcome. Participants are asked to bring their own mats.

Summer Jazz Music Series: Every Friday, beginning June 4, the Dupont Circle BID will host its new outdoor music series in Q St. Park NW across from the north entrance of the Dupont Circle Metro Station. This free series runs from June 4 through August 27, 2021, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Attendees are encouraged to pick up dinner or snacks from one of Dupont Circle’s many restaurants, or dine outdoors in the many Streateries and Parklets.

Beyond these two new summer programs, Dupont Circle is home to a variety of recently reopened art galleries, embassies, and businesses. Residents and visitors are encouraged to shop local and support the more than 50 restaurants, bars, retailers throughout the Summertime and beyond.
